Guidance

To consider before completing a nomination:

Please see KCF’s individuals’ grants general criteria for eligibility and each fund’s specific criteria

This application form is not to be used to apply for a SWEF Enterprise Grant, which can be applied for via the SWEF Enterprise Grant application forms.

You can submit grant nominations year-round. Once KCF has all the information we need from you, we aim to award grants within 4-6 weeks. But please note the following, before taking the time to fill in the form:

  • KCF is only able to consider nominations from a professional who is supporting the nominee (Examples of professional third parties able to nominate include, but are not limited to, social workers, charity employees, GPs, occupational therapists, Family Liaison Officers and teachers.)
  • There must be a demonstratable financial disadvantage underlying the request (low income &/or in receipt of benefits).
  • The individual or family being nominated must be a resident of Kent or Medway.
  • The request is not for something that local/national authorities have a statutory duty to provide.
  • KCF can only consider nominations that meet the fund criteria.
  • KCF requires quotes/invoices/links for the items/services detailed in the grant nomination.
  • KCF will contact the nominator directly, rather than the individual/family to ask for any further information required to assess the nomination
  • Grants cannot be awarded to reimburse for items/services already purchased by the family or nominator before the date of any grant is awarded.
  • If a grant is awarded, the individual must not be paid the grant direct.
